Behind the Smiles and Spotless Spaces: Celebrating International Housekeeping Week at Kaachi Grand
When travelers look back on their journey to Paro, they often remember the serene mountain vistas, the crisp Himalayan breeze, and the soothing tranquility of their room at Kaachi Grand. Yet, long before a keycard opens a door, an unspoken promise of care, cleanliness, and comfort has already been woven into every corner of that space.
That promise is kept daily by our incredible Housekeeping Department—often called the silent backbone of hospitality.
This International Housekeeping Week, we turned the spotlight onto the dedicated heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes, celebrating their craft, and commitment with a day full of appreciation, laughter, and well-deserved recognition.
Why Housekeeping Matters: The Art of Quiet Care
In the world of hospitality, true excellence often goes unnoticed precisely because it is flawless.
Housekeeping is far more than changing linens and polishing surfaces. It is an art form rooted in vigilance, hygiene, and genuine Bhutanese warmth. It’s the sharp crease on a freshly turned-down duvet after a long trek to Tiger’s Nest; the meticulous sanitization that ensures peace of mind; and the welcoming atmosphere that makes our guests instantly exhale and feel at home.
Without the discipline, eye for detail, and early morning diligence of our housekeeping team, the foundation of Kaachi Grand simply wouldn’t stand. Housekeeping Week is our yearly reminder to pause, say thank you, and give our colleagues the center stage they so richly deserve.
A Day Dedicated to Our Heroes: How We Celebrated
To show our gratitude, the management and staff came together to organize a lively, joy-filled celebration packed with friendly competition, team spirit, and delicious food:
1. Pinning Pride: The Badge Awarding Ceremony
The festivities commenced on a proud note with an official badge awarding ceremony. Each team member was presented with a special commemorative badge, recognizing not just their role, but their individual milestones, reliability, and outstanding contributions throughout the year. It was a heartfelt reminder that every folded towel and pristine room is a personal mark of excellence.
2. Sweet Beginnings: The Cake-Cutting Ceremony
With badges pinned high, the entire team gathered around for a celebratory cake-cutting moment. Surrounded by cheers, applause, and smiles, leadership shared words of appreciation, highlighting how essential each team member is to Kaachi Grand’s identity.
3. Speed, Precision & Hospital Corners: The Bed-Making Challenge
Things heated up with our favorite tradition: the Bed-Making Challenge! Watching our housekeeping professionals at work is like watching a complex dance. Armed with fitted sheets, duvets, and pillows, contestants went head-to-head against the clock. The competition showcased what true mastery looks like—crisp 45-degree hospital corners, perfectly fluffed pillows, and wrinkle-free symmetry accomplished in mere minutes.
4. Laughter & fellowship: Team-Bonding Games
Hospitality requires synchronization across all departments, and our afternoon games put teamwork front and center. From relay coordination games to lighthearted moments, the room was filled with uncontrollable laughter and cheerful jokes, giving everyone a chance to unwind and bond outside their daily operational routines.
5. A Feasting Finale: Lunch Treat at Lomba Restaurant

No Bhutanese celebration is complete without good food and fellowship. To conclude the festivities, the housekeeping team was treated to a lunch spread at our in-house Lomba Restaurant. Sitting together over steaming plates of local favorites, shared stories, and warm hospitality directed back toward them, it was the perfect close to an uplifting day.
To Our Housekeeping Team: Thank You
To our room attendants, public area caretakers and supervisors: thank you.
Thank you for your resilience, your high standards, and the silent care you pour into every room, every day. You don’t just maintain Kaachi Grand—you breathe life, comfort, and warmth into it.
Happy International Housekeeping Week from all of us at Hotel Kaachi Grand!
