Bhutan Visa - Hotel Kaachi Grand - 4 Star Hotel in Paro Bhutan

Bhutan Visa

All visitors, except for Indian nationals, are required to obtain a visa to enter Bhutan. The Bhutan Tourism Board (BTB) can assist in processing your visa prior to your departure, and your visa will be endorsed upon arrival. While visitors from Bangladesh and the Maldives can obtain their visas on arrival at the port of entry, it is recommended to apply in advance to reduce wait times. Visitors from India also need a permit, which can be obtained on arrival or applied for in advance.

Certain nationalities, such as Switzerland and Thailand (diplomatic or government-official passport holders), are eligible for a visa on arrival at the port of entry.

For Indian visitors, a permit is required, and they must hold either an Indian passport or an Indian voter ID card. Indian nationals under the age of 18 may enter with a birth certificate or passport and must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Required Documents for Visa Application:

  • A digital copy of your passport.
  • The passport must be valid for at least six months from the intended date of departure from Bhutan.
  • A recent digital passport-appropriate photograph.
  • Valid travel insurance covering the entire duration of your trip.
  • The visa fee is US$40 per person and is non-refundable.

Please note that it may take up to five working days to process a visa application with accurate information. The visa allows you to stay in Bhutan for the duration of the paid Sustainable Development Fee (SDF). Ensure that you have all the necessary documentation and submit your visa application correctly to enjoy a smooth entry into the enchanting Kingdom of Bhutan.
